Duo Competitions for Moms
“Competition gives me energy. It keeps me focused.”
Is it possible to cook without fire? “Yes very much possible!” say the Super moms of Laxmi International School, pre primary.

Since Diwali is just around the corner, celebrations are in full swing. A festival full of sweet memories, a sky full of fireworks, a mouth full of sweets, a house full of diyas and a heart full of enjoyment. Let’s make the handmade sweets and salty dishes and spread happiness. A non fire cooking competition was arranged for the moms on 15th October 2022 in the KG department. Enthusiastic moms were ready with their ingredients and within an hour they have to make a sweet or a snack. The competition was judged on the following criteria
· Taste
· Hygiene
· Presentation
· Unique name of the dish
The honorable judges who judged the event were Mr Ramesh Bisht and Mrs Barkha Patel.

The food items displayed were a treat to the eyes as well as the palate. It’s our belief that all should have homemade sweets during festivals. This Competition was conducted to inspire moms for homemade sweets and with a view to share culture with the younger generation. The Principal did the honors by giving away the Prizes and appreciating the efforts put in by the moms.

Mothers rarely get a chance to display their talent in the field of art, therefore we thought of giving a platform to the mother parents to showcase their talent. This was executed by way of a Rangoli competition.
Hence 15th October 2022, was the day chosen for the competition (a couple of days before Diwali celebrations).
Competing mothers were issued tokens & allotted space to make their rangoli's in the assembly hall. Contestants used different materials like Lessees, Flowers, Diyas, Dough Diyas, leaves etc to express their best creativity by making spell binding Rangolis.
Participant Mothers of two of our students shared their feedback on this occasion that how their children motivated them to participate and they expressed their gratitude to the school for giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent. A written feedback of participants was also taken followed by a group photograph to cherish the memory in future.
In the end, Principal extended a vote of thanks with best wishes for the Diwali festival.
