"The world is a fine place and worth fighting for."
~Ernest Hemingway
Every June 5th is a day used by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of environmental issues. World Environment Day began in 1972 as a day for people from all walks of life to come together to ensure a cleaner, greener and brighter outlook for themselves and future generations.
The theme for World Environment Day 2021 is “Ecosystem Restoration.”
Ecosystem restoration can take many forms: Growing trees, greening cities, rewinding gardens, changing diets or cleaning up rivers and coasts.
Laxmi International School, Pre primary students’ celebrated World
Environment day under their online study program. For the tiny tots it wasn’t a day celebration, instead it was a week celebration. Teachers conducted a special assembly by showing a video to help the students understand the role that nature plays in our lives. Through a Puppet Show we try to spread awareness about the importance of trees. Sensory activities like- Making of Nature Mask, Nature bracelet and Nature head band were made by the kids.
The finale day students dressed in green attire actively participated in the activities on the conservation of Mother Earth. Departmental Heads of LVS campus planted almost 200 trees at the entrance of the large green campus.
The main objective of observing this day was to bring about a change in attitude towards environment, making simple modifications in our everyday life, we can all contribute to the cause of environment protection and advocate partnership between each human being and society to ensure a safe future.
