GANPATI BAPPA MORYA
'Destroy your sorrows; enhance your happiness; And create goodness all around you'!
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!
Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on September 10 this year. The festival is celebrated with much pomp and zeal in several states like- Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka. The festival celebrated for a period of 10 days and will conclude on 21 September. Lord Ganesh is considered to be the remover of obstacles and, according to the Hindu faith, all important events within the family and community are begun after seeking his blessings. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important festivals and is observed on the Shukla Paksha Chaturthi, which is the fourth day of the fortnight between the new moon and the full moon of Bhadrapada.
9th September, Thursday LIS Pre primary celebrated the auspicious birthday of Lord Ganesha on a virtual platform. An eco friendly Ganesha crafted and beautifully decorated for the occasion. Drums beats and bells clanged vigorously with kids shout on “Ganpati Bappa Morya”. The teachers stared the day by chanting ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya’ shloka and continued with the prayer of LORD GANESH. Aarti was performed followed by the birth of Lord Ganesha and his origin was explained through a story supported by PPT.
To reinforce the learning of Shree Ganesha the students made eco friendly Ganapati using clay, leaves and non toxic clay. Sweets were distributed as prasad to all staff members. The celebration was very insightful and all enjoyed.
The teachers will later symbolically immerse the clay idol in a pool of water as mark of their respect for the environment.
