LIS - Preprimary Happy Doctor’s Day!
You are the true HERO of the universe!
"Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients." This quote by Carl Jung never made more sense than now. Our doctors and healthcare workers stood by us during such tough times of COVID-19 pandemic that no matter how much we acknowledge or thank them it will be difficult to repay whatever they have done for the country.
India celebrated National Doctor’s Day on July 1st every year, in honor of the birth and death anniversary of the great physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr. Roy was honored with Bharat Ratna which is India's highest civilian award for his immense contributions. This day serves to show gratitude to all those who have selflessly aided us in our time of need and tirelessly worked for the health of their patients by commemorating the greatest representative of these ideals. Doctor's Day is not only celebrated in India but also in different countries, however, on different dates.
To mark National Doctor’s Day, LIS Pre primary students expressed their gratitude towards doctors for their selfless services especially during the COVID pandemic. They were shown video highlighting contributions of the medical fraternity to the society. The kids paid their respects by saluting and clapping for them. A LIVE webinar was arranged and talked more about COVID, the precautions to be taken, importance of vaccine and tips on healthy living. Dr Saurabh Modasia, Pediatrics, an expertise in child vaccination and obesity was the key speaker. The program concluded with question answer round.
