No Plastic Awareness

Plastic pollution is a global catastrophe and sadly it is a man-made one. So, to spread awareness for not using plastic; the day called International Plastic Bag Free Day is celebrated on 3rd of July. No Plastic Day is a worldwide event intended to bring awareness of the over consumption of disposable plastic goods such as plastic bags and bottles.

LIS organises various activities to sensitize our students and make them responsible citizens of tomorrow. The day is celebrated by engaging students in many constructive activities like making of paper and cloth bags, awareness posters, Speech Competition, Best out of Waste activity etc.

The stakeholders were also educated about the dangers of plastic and ways to avoid their usage by stopping purchasing things in plastic bags, promoting usage of virgin plastic and usage of cloth bags. The mantra of 5R’s: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot was intiled to ensure that we do not leave our successors a scorched planet with ailing environment.
