Pre Primary Women's Day Celebration 2021

A woman in any form should be celebrated and honoured; be it as a mother, sister, daughter or a wife. A woman is a symbol of love, God’s finest and beautiful creation”.

International Women's Day is celebrated on the 8th March of every year. It's the day for praising women who work hard every day to accomplish individual and professional goals. It is the day to acknowledge their courage of breaking the rigid stereotypes, and coming out as strong powerful women. This year 2021 women's day theme is 'Choose To Challenge', which means that every individual is responsible for our own actions and thoughts. The theme, further elaborates that from challenge comes change. Purple, green, and white, are the official colours of International Women's Day. Purple signifies justice and dignity, Green symbolizes hope and white represents purity or innocence.

The idea of International Women's Day was proposed in 1910 by Clara Zetkin. To honour the contributions of Sarojini Naidu, February 13 is observed as National Women's Day of India. Sarojini Naidu was not only a freedom fighter, but she also became the first woman governor of the United Provinces, the present Uttar Pradesh.

Every day should be celebrated as Women's Day. However, to honour their achievements a virtual assembly was commenced at Laxmi International School Pre primary. The Assembly began with a prayer followed by an inspirational thought. Students sang song and delivered speech to acknowledge all the women for making this world a better place to live in. The aim of the assembly was not only to entertain children but to depict the power of women and make everyone realize the great power women have for the well being of the family and society. Some of the kids expressed their gratitude by making cards, helping them in everyday chores, making yummy dishes and singing song dedicated to the lovely women of their life.

The assembly concluded with few enlightening words by the Principal emphasizing the role of women in our society.
