World Environment Day
“Let every breath, every word, and every step make the mother earth proud of us.”
The world environment day is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet earth.
It is a day that reminds everyone on the planet to get involved in environment friendly activities. From school children to community groups, companies and governments, all come together to pledge towards building a greener planet. The slogan for this year’s ‘World Environment Day’ is “Beat Plastic Pollution” with a special focus on solutions to plastic pollution under this campaign. Keeping this aim in view, the pre primary children of Laxmi International School, Sarigam were briefed about the importance of this day. Through a presentation teacher explained about conserving the environment by changing their habits for example, using bicycles for short distances, public transport for daily commuting to offices, reducing food waste, saving energy at home, schools and offices by switching of lights and AC’s when not in use and using water efficiently. To keep the sustainable and harmonious existence on Planet Earth, we appeal to our parent community to join us in planting saplings on the 5th of June 2023 as part of the celebration. As a pledge to provide a healthy and breathable environment for our current and future generations, we urge our parents to enlist their extended family, friends, and colleagues, and to be an integral part of this mission.
The event was conducted successfully with whole hearted participation and awareness for a greener world.
