World Health Day
Updated: Apr 13
“The greatest wealth is health, take care and enjoy a healthy life”.
World Health Day is celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of health. Every year on April 7, the World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates World Health Day. It was in 1950 that the first World Health Day was celebrated. Each year has a different theme. In 2021, the theme is building a fairer, healthier world.
Due to this pandemic, this year we have decided to celebrate virtual World Health Day by educating and enlightening our children on the importance of maintaining good health and the significance of every healthcare worker such as doctors and nurses to ensure peacefulness and safety of our community.
We also elaborated to our children about the importance of maintaining good health by practicing good hygiene habits, healthy diet, and regular exercising. Children were shown the proper way to wash their hands using soap and water. This was actually quite a fun activity for our children.
“Healthy body needs a healthy mind.” Our mind controls our feelings which are kept changing. Sometimes we feel good, sometimes bad. The good and bad feelings come like waves. We tried to transform our emotions through guided meditation. All we need to do is sit with our eyes closed and follow the instructions being given. Parents along with kids actively took part in the activity.
